In memory a Alfredo Faria Junior

Alfredo completed his undergraduate courses in Physical Education and Pedagogy, his Master's in Education (Teaching Methods and Techniques), and his Doctorate in Education Physics - Universite Libre de Bruxelles in 1980 with great distinction. He did his postdoctoral course at the Faculty of Education, University of London. The University of Porto, through its Faculty of Sports (FADEUP), awarded him the title of Doctor Honoris Causa. He worked as an adjunct professor at the State University of Rio de Janeiro from 1974 to 2004. He retired. His last affiliation was the Salgado de Oliveira University. As a Postgraduate Program in Physical Activity Sciences professor, he published articles in specialized journals and works in event annals, book chapters, and books. He supervised master's dissertations and doctoral theses, as well as course completion work in the area of physical education. He has received numerous awards and honors. In his professional activities, he interacted with hundreds of collaborators in co-authoring scientific works. In his Lattes Curriculum, the most frequent terms in scientific, technological, and artistic-cultural production are Physical Education, elderly people, physical activity, physical activities, sport, didactics, teacher training, health promotion, gerontological education, and special education. Alfredo passed away on June 9, 2019, leaving us an invaluable legacy. We miss you.
